Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has sold over 5 million units

If it could be considered a niche in the West in the past (although it was improving over time), since the arrival of Monster Hunter Worldthe Capcom license is a hit all over the world.

A turnaround allowing the Japanese to approach each of their outings more calmly, and above all to put more resources into it than in the past. This has been observed with monster hunter risebut also its extension Sunbreak.

Full box for Sunbreak

If we are still very far from the monstrous success (wink) of Monster Hunter World across the world, this one exceeding 20 million copies sold on all media, we can still speak of a frank success for monster hunter rise which turns to over 11 million.

Certainly its ports on PC and next-generation consoles will allow it to shine for a little while longer in the charts, and we wish it. Especially since our opinion on the PS5 version (which will surely be identical to the Xbox Series X version) is positive to say the least.

But what about Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak ? Well everything is contained in the title, this extension is also a hit. These are no less than 5 million copies that have found takers since June 2022. For the occasion, Capcom promises a pack of new items, which will arrive soon.

For comparison, note that Monster Hunter World: Icebornea product ultimately very similar on paper, sold more than 10 million copies in almost four years of existence. It remains to be seen where it will stop Sunbreakwhich still has room in terms of time to catch up with its eldest!
