The Arkveld
A mysterious monster from a long-extinct species. It has uniquely shaped wings that resemble chains.
Prologue
A few years ago, a boy named Nata was rescued on the border of the Forbidden Lands, a place the Hunters Guild had never explored before. They gathered their resources and formed the Forbidden Lands Research Commission to investigate the mysterious “White Specter” that attacked Nata’s village.
In order to effectively explore the Forbidden Lands and using Nata’s cryptic words as clues, The Research Commission sends several units to the region to investigate this mysterious monster behind the attack. and rescue the endangered people of Nata. The guilds are made up of several units, each of which consists of three people and one animal: a hunter, an assistant, a blacksmith and a Palico.
The Avis unit is composed of Alma, Gemma, the player’s hunter and his Palico.while the Astrum unit includes seasoned hunter Olivia, who can join players as a support hunter, her Palico Athos, biologist Erik, and engineer Werner.
A living world, constantly evolving
Previously revealed in our last trailer, the Scarlet Forest is a new region featuring an ecosystem of colorful monsters, lush vegetation, and abundant red rivers. Much like the Windswept Plains, The Scarlet Forest also has its own unique environmental changes.
During the period of ariditythe Scarlet Forest is characterized by the reddish rivers that gave it its name and which flow through dense vegetation. periods of bad weather cause chaotic torrential rains that significantly reduce visibility and lead to rising waters and raging currents. Once the storm has passed, Abundance gives rise to a colorful ecosystem teeming with monsters, plants, and sunny streams that reflect the vibrant blue of the clear sky. These clear waters allow hunters to indulge in a relaxing hobby such as fishing, or exploring the waters and rubble of the area swinging on the scaragrappins or on the back of their faithful mount Seikret. During their exploration, the hunters may even encounter the local tribe of Lynians, known as Wudwudswho managed to adapt his life and hiding place to the ever-changing environment.
New predators appear
Just as changes in the weather herald the appearance of new plants and animals, new monsters also emerge in the storm.
- The Scarlet Forest’s apex predator, the Uth Duna – A Leviathan-type monster that appears during the Flood, the Crimson Forest’s Season of Disaster. It possesses a veil of water created by a substance its body secretes.
- The Quematrice sets the powder alight – New to Monster Hunter Wilds, the Quematrice is an Earth Wyvern that resides in the Windy Plains. This creature spreads a flammable substance that ignites when it comes into contact with the sparks it produces by scraping the ground with its tail.
Players will have the choice between three editions that are classic to say the least, which could raise the bill quite high while these are only additional digital elements. The publisher had announced the color in 2023 and here we have a first concrete application, since even Dragon’s Dogma 2 was slightly cheaper out of the box. Fortunately, it should still be possible to get the physical standard edition for less when it releases. If you’re playing on PC, there will still be a $10 difference on each, as is often the case.
