Last Friday, June 14, many French and American stars came together to launch, with great fanfare, the 63rd edition of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival. An unmissable event for fans of TV series, who, like every year, turned out to meet their favorite celebrities.

This year’s Festival blue carpet welcomed prestigious actors and actresses, starting with Morgan Freeman. The 87-year-old actor was passing through the principality to receive the Crystal Nymph, which rewards all of his work. But also to present a world premiere of The Gray House, a series that he co-produces alongside Kevin Costner and of which here is the first information.

A summit meeting between two voices

After receiving his statuette from HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco during the opening ceremony, Morgan Freeman was accompanied on stage during his acceptance speech by Benoît Allemane, his French voice. A moving encounter for the dubbing actor, he who had never crossed paths with the man to whom he has lent his voice for many years.

And what a nice surprise for the audience to see and hear Morgan Freeman’s VF live. A suspended moment rich in emotion which allowed the festivities to be launched as needed.

NCIS, the 1000th!

This 63rd edition of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival highlights the detective series NCIS, which we no longer present. The one which was renewed for a 22nd season has above all exceeded the milestone of 1000 episodes. An exemplary longevity which should be celebrated with the fans.

On this occasion, four actors traveled to the Monaco coast: Wilmer Valderrama (Nick), Brian Dietzen (Jimmy), Michael Weatherly (Tony) and Cote de Pablo (Ziva). The latter came in particular to talk about their next spin-off, the action of which will take place in Europe.

50 years of a flagship series

We went back in time a few years on the blue carpet of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival and traveled to Walnut Grove. If some actors from Little House on the Prairie regularly come to this prestigious event, it is the first time that all the actors were present in Europe to celebrate its 50th anniversary… to the great pleasure of the fans, who chanted in heart the names of Alison Arngrim (Nellie Oleson), Karen Grassle (Caroline Ingalls) and her incomparable smile, Matthew Laborteaux (Albert Ingalls) or even Melissa Sue Anderson (Marie).

The next day, aficionados of the series met with the entire cast for a moment of exchange, between laughter and emotions. And anyone passing through the Forum at that time where the event took place could wait for the fans to sing the theme song of Little House on the Prairie…
