Moon Studios made a name for itself in game development with Ori and the Blind Forest, and then with its sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisps. After the release of the first opus in 2015, the studio turned to another type of project. This one did not finally see the light of day since the developers chose to work on the second episode of the license which made them known. However, the project was not abandoned and, seven years later, Thomas Mahler, the CEO of Moon Studios, spoke on Twitter about it.
Ori was our ‘Mario’, this is our ‘Zelda’.
That was my thought when I first started prototyping our new project back in 2015.
We then committed to Wisps, which allowed us to give this project more time in the oven so that we’d then be able to turn it into a full-blown ARPG.

According to him, Ori was more in the same style as a Mario game, while the project the company is currently working on looks much more like a Zelda. Nevertheless, we don’t know much else about him, except that he has as a source of inspiration for other famous licenses such as Diablo and Dark Souls. Thomas Mahler also announced in a previous tweet pitching him to Private Division, a video game publisher.
This project will probably happen on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PClike its predecessors, but it should also appear on PlayStation. However, we will have to wait a little longer before discovering more about it.
