Morbihan Firefighters discover a human body on fire, an open investigation

An investigation is opened after the discovery of a human corpse on fire by firefighters on Saturday in the town of Auray (in Morbihan).

The alert was given “by walkers who noticed the start of a fire in a green waste storage area in the municipality”, said the deputy prosecutor of the Republic of Lorient Eric Pouder. When they arrived on the scene, the firefighters discovered that the fire came from a human corpse.

The gendarmes “actually noted the presence of a body of a male person of undetermined age and identity”, specified Eric Pouder.

Autopsy scheduled for Tuesday

The deputy prosecutor of Lorient specifies that, for the time being, “no option (is) ruled out”. The Lorient research brigade associated with the Rennes Research section is seized of an “investigation in search of the causes of death”.

According to a source close to the case, it would be a man in his twenties. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
