Since Monday January 8, TF1 has now broadcast three daily soap operas: “Tomorrow belongs to us”, “Here it all begins” and “Plus belle la vie”. Is a crossover between the three series possible?
After more than a year of absence, Plus belle la vie returned to television this Monday, January 8 on TF1. More than 3 million viewers gathered in front of their television screens to discover what awaited the emblematic characters of the soap opera in this sequel, which is not really one.
And for this launch, TF1 saw things big, since this first episode ended on a cliffhanger which should keep fans in suspense for the coming weeks. Francesco was in fact poisoned during the inauguration evening of the new Mistral bar. Who could have attacked the cook? The police are investigating.
Crossovers with Tomorrow Belongs to Us and Here it all begins?
With the arrival of Plus belle la vie, even plus belle, TF1 now has three daily soap operas on its channel. Launched in July 2017, Tomorrow Belongs to Us is the channel’s oldest soap opera. In November 2020, it gave birth to a spin-off, Here it all begins, which follows the adventures of a group of students from the prestigious Auguste Armand gastronomy institute.
But if many are hoping for a crossover between the three dailies, all three of which are produced by Newen, it seems that this is not in the works.
During the presentation conference for Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle, Stéphanie Brémond, deputy general director of soap operas and long series at Newen France, made a point of explaining that the three series are very different.
“Each serial follows different characters and has different plots. For example, the new settings of Plus belle la vie, such as the student residence, will allow us to address subjects that are completely different from the other two series.”
“We are going to focus more on social issues. It is therefore not expected that there will be any bridges or crossovers between the series.”Barbara (Léa François) as a cooking teacher at the Institut Auguste Armand, so it won’t be for right away.
