More beautiful life: “I admit to having remained unsatisfied”, David Baiot comments on the return of Djawad in the final

For AlloCiné, David Baiot commented on his return to the France 3 soap opera “Plus belle la vie”, on the occasion of its grand finale. With frankness, the actor told us that he would have liked a different release for Djawad, his character…

Saturday June 10, 2023, France 3 invites its viewers to discover the TV movie La Malédiction du lys at 9:10 p.m. In the casting, the public will find in the main roles Erika Sainte and David Baiot. The latter also spoke with AlloCiné and revealed in our interview what particularly interested him in this project.

Disappointing return to “Plus belle la vie”?

During this meeting, the actor who played the character of Djawad in Plus belle la vie rightly returned to his return to the soap opera at the end of 2022. David Baiot had then agreed to resume his role in the daily life for an arch and to come back for the grand finale. A reappearance on the side of the Mistral considered disappointing by some fans…

The faithful of the daily indeed hoped to see the actor again. A feeling shared by the main interested party who explained to us: “I’m glad the character was able to reappear and the plot with Estelle [Elodie Varlet, ndlr] was quite cute. The fact that her ex accompanies her to get married, I found that quite beautiful.

After yes, I have the impression that the fans would have liked Djawad to have a slightly more important place… It was not the case but it does not matter. Me too I remained on my hunger, I confessconfessed David Baiot. I would have liked another ending for my character… But life is more beautiful, that’s how it is.

I stayed on my hunger

I came back for the fans and also for Elodie Varlethe continued. She had told me what was happening in the plots and she had suggested that I come back because we had already spoken to her about it on the set. I said ‘Why not?’, depending on what the writers wanted to tell. I thought there would be a little more but there was what was needed. A small dose of Djawad, everyone was happy! (laughs)”

Finally, David Baiot is also aware that the soap opera could soon be reborn from its ashes. But would he be ready to participate again? Here is his response:Honestly, everything will depend on whether the production wants to see me back in it and what they have to offer me. In any case, I am not closed at all.” To be continued.
