Wednesday July 27, 2022, Laurent Kérusoré created controversy by evoking the end of Plus belle la vie, on France 3, for Here Paris. The next day, the producer of the series, Claire de La Rochefoucauld, spoke in an interview with Pure Media.
Launched in 2004, the series More beautiful lifebroadcast on France 3, will end on Friday November 18, 2022. While this news upset the actors, it was Laurent Kérusoré, present since the start of the series, who spoke in the columns ofParis here. On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, he said: “Ms. Ernotte (president of the France Television group, editor’s note) did not even come to tell us the bad news, not even a letter. She sent one of her right arms. We were fired by an énarque who, in two years, will work in a bank or at Orange (…) All the actors and technicians are, despite everything, in a positive spirit, without any hatred, but I would really like not be in the place of the leaders of France Télévisions.“
Visibly annoyed, the actor confided during this interview: “It was done in the worst possible way (…) We learned about it at the same time as the viewers.“While her remarks are controversial, Claire de La Rochefoucauld, producer of the series, spoke in an interview with Pure MediaThursday, July 28, 2022.”I immediately called Laurent to get his version of the facts because I was quite surprised. Of course, I don’t agree with him at all.“, she first let it be known. Ensuring that she gave the benefit of the doubt to the interpreter of Thomas Marci, she declared: “He finds that the article in Ici Paris has distorted his remarks and he really does not like the image it sends back of him. He wants to finish the series in style and the article on the contrary sends back the image of someone embittered and hateful. For him, it’s not his state of mind and it doesn’t reflect at all the interview he had. Laurent is very affected. He feels like he’s been completely had.“
Claire de La Rochefoucauld: “The end is going extremely well”
During this interview, the producer of the flagship series of France 3, explained: “Since the beginning and still now, we work hand in hand with France Télévisions. They decided to end the series. This is the life of the series. A series ends after a while. We had 18 happy years. Objectively, the ending is going extremely well, both artistically and socially.“Assuring that Laurent Kérusoré was someone sensitive, she added:”He has not shot elsewhere than in ‘Plus belle la vie’. It was a choice on his part. And he also did plenty of other interviews where he never made such comments. They took advantage of an emotionally complicated moment for Laurent.“
