In the episode of More beautiful life from Friday, July 29, 2022Boher (Stéphane Hénon) and Patrick (Jérôme Bertin) have an appointment with Prune Valoret, the alleged baby casting director, to do camera tests. Arriving at the studio, they meet an American actress, Jennifer Mitchum. Prune announces to them that the actress really liked the photos of the babies, but that she will only make her decision after the camera tests. Back at the police station, the two police officers are given a soap by the prosecutor Revel (Grégory Questel). Since the beginning of their infiltration mission, they have multiplied the expense reports for photo shoots, hair removal and exfoliation, but they have made very little progress in the investigation. The prosecutor demands results. However, Boher and Patrick increasingly doubt Prune’s guilt. Although she has a double identity, the young woman is well registered as a casting director. Plus, they saw Jennifer Mitchum walk out of her studio. So could it be that Gaspard’s parents lied about him?

Back at the Mistral, Luna (Anne Décis) arrives at Mirta (Sylvie Flepp) and embraces her enthusiastically. Mirta, who has just learned that she has breast cancer, has no head for hugs and is cold and distant. Luna finds her weird and asks her for an explanation, but Mirta dodges her questions and goes out for a walk. Suffering from the heat, she finds refuge in a church and hears a priest crying in a confessional. He explains to him that God has abandoned him. Recently, one of her parishioners lost her 8-year-old daughter, six months after losing her husband. He begged the Lord to whisper the words to him to help him, but he was silent. He therefore comes to doubt its existence. Wise, Mirta finds the words to restore her faith…

Kevin doubts the sincerity of Camille

Baptiste (Bryan Trésor) hears on the radio that Jacob (Christophe Morillon) has confessed to the murder of Alice Ruiz (Mélanie Guth), the mother of Emma (Pauline Bression) and Camille (Lisa Cipriani). Seeing Justine (Maelli Kervoelen) arrive, he hastens to turn off the radio, but the young woman encourages him to confide. Baptiste explains to her that Alice Ruiz has always blamed Emma for Camille’s kidnapping. He has long tried to save his wife from his mother and sister, but no longer wants to sacrifice his life for this cause. Justine thinks Emma is a victim and surely needs him, but Baptiste feels good in his love bubble with her and doesn’t want to break it. Anyway, he and Justine have to go back to the barracks.

Emma left a message for Camille about Alice’s incineration, but the young woman didn’t understand everything and went to see her to find out more. Emma vaguely explains to him that the crematorium had a daytime slot. She therefore decided to quickly cremate her mother and scatter the ashes on the spot. Camille doesn’t like the idea that their mother doesn’t even have a plaque, but Emma doesn’t have the money to fund a burial. Seeing that her sister is still on edge, Camille tries to calm things down. Now that only the two of them are left, it might be time for them to stop fighting each other. However, Emma doesn’t see it that way.

During an intervention, Justine tries to get a man out of a burning house but he refuses to leave his couch. He explains that he built his house himself and feels ready to burn with it rather than abandon it. To force him out, Justine sits by his side and declares that if he doesn’t come out, she won’t come out either. Baptiste follows the movement, which ends up convincing the man to leave the place. A little later, Baptiste receives a call from Emma. The day care center closed early and she cannot keep Mathis due to Alice’s cremation. Baptiste offers to ask Gabriel to babysit him so he can accompany her, but Emma gets angry. Baptiste never cared about his mother, so why would he want to accompany her to her funeral? Tired of seeing Emma push him away, Baptiste raises his voice. Yes, he lied to her about Justine, but it was out of cowardice, not to hurt her. From the start, he’s only been fighting for them, which Emma can’t deny. Finally, Emma calms down and lets Baptiste keep Mathis for the time of his mother’s cremation.

After the cremation, Emma, Camille and Kévin (Théo Bertrand) go to the garden of remembrance to scatter Alice’s ashes. Along the way, Camille stops and begins to cry. She says she doesn’t have the strength to go any further. Tired of her behavior, Emma goes to scatter the ashes with Kevin. She tells him of her lingering doubts about Camille. Kevin stands up for his girlfriend, but Emma doesn’t want to hear it. In the evening, Camille suggests that Kévin go to the cinema. The young man finds it strange that she recovers so quickly from her mother’s funeral and decides to go see Emma. He tells her that Camille has been weird for some time. She is constantly on edge and gets on her high horse when it comes to Caesar. Convinced that her sister is hiding something from them, Emma advises Kevin to leave her before it’s too late…
