The days pass and Plus belle la vie is nearing its end. The date of the final episode of the France 3 soap opera has just been unveiled by Allociné on June 28.
After 18 years, More beautiful life is about to bow out. The famous soap opera which recounts the adventures of inhabitants of a fictional district of Marseille has been canceled by France 3, for lack of sufficient audiences. However, let the viewers be reassured, the end of the program is not envisaged before at least six months and the Mistral will reopen its doors the 5 of July next for its last summer season. On the occasion of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, our colleagues from Allociné went to meet Claire de la Rochefoucauld, producer of the series. “We all have the will to end in beauty“, promises the director.
For the teams as for the production, it is out of the question to end the adventure in indifference. The sister of actress Sophie de la Rochefoucauld explains: “[…] we are absolutely not in despair. We especially want to enjoy the last moments we have left. On the writing side, we want to offer all the actors, and their character, the opportunity to say goodbye to their audience“, she assures. On the program of these goodbyes, two exceptional bonuses. The first, entitled “reunion“, will be broadcast on July 5 and will bring together a number of characters who have marked the plot: “It will hold many surprises to viewers and will be the scene of the return of Dounia CoesensAurélie Vaneck, Ambroise Michel and Coline d’Inca who are the original young people of Plus belle la vie and who have matured a lot since their departure“, promises Claire de la Rochefoucauld. The second special episode will be released November 18 and will be the last:These will therefore be the last images of Plus belle la vie which will be broadcast on France 3. We will shoot it between the end of August and the beginning of September“, reveals the producer.
More beautiful life saved? : “fingers crossed”
What about a possible resumption of More beautiful life on another channel ? Claire de la Rochefoucauld does not confirm anything but does not close any doors: “For the moment it is only noise from the hallway. We would love for Plus belle la vie to survive its stop on France 3. We are working on it but for the moment there is nothing signed. But we’re crossing our fingers“, she admits in the rest of the interview. On the other hand, the director denied any spin-off project: “I think it’s a misunderstanding. I say it once and for all: this spin-off, we don’t know where it comes fromit is not at all on the agenda at France Télévisions in any case“, she clarified. Last May, Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez, the director of the antennas of France Télévisions, assured to have ordered a spin-off. The future of the series should therefore be clarified by next November.
