New features that have been long awaited

Highly followed by hardcore FPS players, Escape From Tarkov continues its long development before its official launch. Available in early access since June 2017, the game has undergone many changes and different additions. Recently, fans had anticipated the arrival of new features, and indeed, the next update “0.15” will arrive on August 20th.. At the same time, players are entitled to a trailer – available at the top of the article – which reveals the traditional “wipe” – the resetting of player profiles – which was long awaited. This update brings with it several new features that have caused quite a stir in the community. Players will now be able to set grenade traps, a feature that some describe as “toxic” but which is not out of step with the nature of Escape From Tarkov: to survive, all means are good. Soldiers in this lawless region will have to face a new, rather devious boss named Partizan, who will take care of scanning the extraction zones to punish those who camp there. Added to this is a graphical overhaul of the Factory map and the arrival of new weapons, enough to make players want to return to fight in the Norvinsk region.

In recent years, FPS and more specifically extraction-shooters have been on the rise, although some have not had the same success as Escape From Tarkov, many consider it the best in its category. Among the various games that try to overshadow it, Delta Force: Hawk Ops and Arena Breakout: Infinite – the Chinese competitor – stand out slightly. Both attempt a more accessible approach to the genre. But where the Russian teams behind Escape From Tarkov pull off a feat is by rolling out their new update a few days after the early access release for the Chinese game. Clearly, players will be more interested in the FPS mainstay with its ultra-intensive gameplay than in its Asian counterpart.
