More money thanks to the GHG quota: e-car drivers can reap twice as much

You have to be able to afford to buy an electric car. Compared to combustion engines, the electric vehicles can be expensive, especially where the environmental bonus will soon drop. But once you own an electric car, you can get a lot of money back thanks to the GHG quota. It’s even more attractive now.

Anyone who owns an electric car and thus registers for the greenhouse gas reduction quota (GHG quota) can make good money with it. Currently several hundred euros per year are possible. Service providers take over the certificate trade with the mineral oil companies, through which you can earn something extra.

Extra bonus for e-car drivers: How to get money back with the Wallbox

Depending on the provider, the bonuses and offers differ somewhat, but there are currently up to 400 euros for the current year. In 2023 it may look even better. Especially for those who are the same benefit twice from the GHG premium.

Because you are not only entitled to payment as an e-car owner, but also if you own a wall box where you can charge an electric car. Among other things, the provider “Money for E-Car” already offers the to turn electricity charged via the wallbox into money.

This works according to the same principle as with large charging station operators. For a long time now, you have been able to use the electricity charged at public charging points as CO2-Sell savings to oil companies. According to the EU Renewable Energy Directive that is also no longer a problem for private individuals (Source: heise).

Billing is based on the kilowatt hours consumed. Up to 10 cents are to be paid out per kWh can become. In contrast to the flat rate for the e-car, the amount of the payments that you can receive via your wall box varies. Depending on consumption, however, several hundred euros are also possible here. The model is therefore particularly worthwhile for frequent drivers.

Not only the GHG quota is a reason to opt for an electric car:

Release the wallbox for third-party electric cars

The only drawback: You have to declare your wallbox as public. As the saying goes, there are currently no checks taking place here, so you are not actually obliged to make your private charging station accessible to others. It also does not have to appear in public loading registers. Actually, nothing changes, you just have a little more money in your pocket at the end of the year.
