Brush stroke for the Polestar 2. The Swedish manufacturer has announced an update to its successful vehicle, more efficient and with increased autonomy.

The latest version of the Polestar 2 is scheduled for release between the third quarter of 2023 and early 2024. A profound update that should revisit the design of the car with a new nose, a new electric motor and more standard equipment . With the two-motor version, Polestar inaugurates rear-wheel drive for greater sensations. The power is slightly vitaminized, going from 300 kW and 660 Nm originally to 310 kW and 740 Nm. This model could reach 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 s. With the performance pack, the motorist will have 350 kW, enough to gain a few tenths of a second when accelerating.

Boosted autonomy
The long-range versions will now be equipped with an 82 kWh battery produced by CATL with 27 modules. The classic version will retain a 69 kWh accumulator with 24 modules, produced this time by LG Chem. Updated Polestar 2 batteries, with more efficient internal chemistry, should further improve fast charge times. For the more powerful motors (Polestar 2 with two motors and performance pack), the electrical power will be further optimized, also making it possible to gain autonomy.
The Long Range Dual motor version will thus increase from 487 to 592 km of autonomy (over 105 km) and the classic from 478 to 518 km (over 40 km). Finally, the standard single-motor version with boosted battery could run up to 635 km (plus 84 km), according to the manufacturer.
The Polestar 2 will also have additional standard equipment. “The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Steering Assist, Cross Traffic Alert with Brake Assist, Rear Collision Warning and Mitigation, as well as the 360° Surround Camera, side mirrors automatic dimming exteriors” and the wireless phone charger will be fitted to the vehicle by default.
