To protect your bahn.de account from unauthorized access, you can activate 2-factor authentication. We show you how to activate 2FA for your train account.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) increases the security of your online accounts. Because in addition to your username and password, you need an additional code to log in, which will be sent to you by SMS, app or email, for example. This increases security, because if an attacker wants to gain access to your account, they must both know your password and steal your 2FA code.
It therefore makes sense to set up 2FA for all services that are connected to your credit card, for example. For a long time this was not possible at Deutsche Bahn, but that has now changed. You can now also secure your DB account via 2FA. You can choose between authentication via SMS or authentication app. This currently only works in the browser, not in the DB Navigator app.
In the following, we will show you how you can activate two-factor authentication on Bahn.de.
Finished! Two-factor authentication is now active for your bahn.de account. Each time you log in, you will be asked to enter the SMS code or the code from the authenticator app.
