Basketball: Elfic Friborg follows suit in the playoff final
Elfic Friborg also lived up to their role as favorites in the playoff final of the NLA women’s basketball team in Game 2. In the 83:64 win over Nyon Basket, Juliunn Redmond excelled with 42 points. Thanks to the success in front of their home crowd, the Freiburg women can already secure their 7th championship title in the club’s history on Saturday. At 3:00 p.m. (to be seen in the SRF live stream) they will be playing away for the first time in the best-of-5 series.
American Football: Hamlin gets the green light
A good three and a half months after his cardiac arrest, football pro Damar Hamlin has been given the green light for any training activities. The Buffalo Bills safety no longer has to step back and can participate in all of the team’s sessions in preparation for the new season. “He was with three other specialists and they all agreed. He can do anything again like anyone who comes out of an injury,” said Brandon Beane, the Bills’ general manager. Hamlin collapsed after a hit in the Bills’ NFL game with the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 2 and required CPR.
