(Boursier.com) — Morgan Stanley announces the launch of 1GT, a private equity platform targeting companies involved in the fight against climate change.
-The 1GT private equity platform (1GT or the platform) makes investments in companies involved in the fight against climate change.
-1GT seeks to invest in companies that aim to collectively avoid or eliminate from the earth’s atmosphere the emission of one gigatonne of CO2 equivalent from the date of launch of the Platform until 2050, date corresponding to the “Net Zero” objective set by the United Nations.
-The 1GT team, led by Vikram Raju, Head of Climate Investment at MSIM, has made investments in companies involved in the fight against climate change since 2015 through several impact funds.
Financial incentives for the 1GT team are tied not only to achieving financial returns, but also to achieving the Platform’s climate goals.
