LONDON (Reuters) – Russia has no moral right to sit in the G20 as long as Russia continues its invasion of Ukraine, the British Foreign Office’s press service said on Friday.

“Russia has no moral right to sit in the G20 as long as its aggression in Ukraine continues,” the press service said.

“We welcome Indonesia’s efforts to ensure that the impacts of Russia’s war are taken into account in G20 meetings, as well as indications that Ukraine may be represented by the President (Volodimir ) Zelensky at the G20 leaders’ summit,” it said.

Indonesia will host the G20 summit in November and has announced that Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend.
