Moscow says it is “from” by messages from Washington before the Geneva negotiations

MOSCOW, Jan. 9 (Reuters) – Moscow said it was “on” Sunday in messages sent by Washington and Brussels the day before the Geneva negotiations, news agencies Interfax and RIA reported.

According to the two agencies, Russia believes that the United States insists that Moscow makes concessions unilaterally.

Discussions are to begin Monday in Geneva between American and Russian diplomats about the deployment of Russian soldiers on the border with Ukraine, the two camps seeking to avoid a crisis.

Quoting remarks by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Serge Ryabkov, the Interfax agency reports that Moscow is not optimistic about the approach to the negotiations. (Report Tom Balmforth and Gabrielle Ttrault-Farber, French version Matthieu Protard)
