A 27-year-old man was stabbed to death on Friday evening in Maizières-lès-Metz (Moselle) during a brawl, we learned on Saturday from the gendarmerie and the prosecution. Twenty-six stab wounds were found on the body of the victim who died on the spot, said a source within the gendarmerie.
“Multiple stab wounds were recorded in the chest and arms“, indicated for his part Thomas Bernard, deputy prosecutor of Metz, without advancing on their number. “A resident saw the victim being stabbed and alerted the emergency services“, he added.

The intervention of the firefighters, who arrived around midnight at the scene of the altercation, was in vain. The victim, of French nationality, was unfavorably known to the police, in particular for drug trafficking, according to the gendarmerie.
The facts occurred in a park, on the edge of a residential area of this city of 11,000 inhabitants, located a few kilometers north of Metz. The perpetrator, who has not been identified, fled and is actively sought. An investigation was entrusted to the research section of Metz for intentional homicide.
