A mother was arrested on August 5 for allegedly giving her baby alcohol from a bottle. The reason ? He was crying too much and she couldn’t calm her 7-week-old newborn baby. The facts would have taken place in a parking lot where the mother stopped because her baby was crying. The 37-year-old woman allegedly put alcohol in the baby’s bottle to calm him down. It was the California police who arrested him and drove him to the station after discovering that his baby was drunk.
An investigation is underway to determine how such a thing could have happened, but the medical staff who examined the infant have no doubts: he was intoxicated by alcohol. Deputies went to the hospital to investigate the circumstances. The investigation showed that the child’s mother, Honesti De La Torre, was driving through the Rialto area. She stopped to put alcohol in a bottle and gave it to the child to keep him from crying. The child became drunk and was taken to hospital by paramedics.” However, the press release does not specify the state of health of the infant who was poisoned. The mum, meanwhile, is being held at West Valley Detention Center on $60,000 bail or around €54,000 and is due in court on Tuesday August 15.
