Finally we managed to set a trap for lousy tricksters and arrest them. We owe this catch to a lady from Graz who was visiting Carinthia and her husband.
It was the well-known scam: A man posing as a Graz judge and speaking High German called the 66-year-old and told her about a dramatic accident that her daughter had had. One person was seriously injured and one child was even killed. The scammer demanded bail of tens of thousands of euros from the mother, as well as jewelry, because the daughter was in custody. Poland arrested The victim noticed the lousy trick immediately, but still pretended to agree to the demands. At the same time, she was able to activate her husband, who was present and who called the police during the phone call. And so it was possible that at the agreed handover, officials from the Wolfsberg post and the criminal department were able to strike: The perpetrators are two Poles, 33 and 25 years old. They were taken to the prison by order of the public prosecutor’s office.
