Before the race this Sunday at 3 p.m., the Italian Marco Bezzecchi was a hit on Saturday at the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Netherlands by winning the sprint race ahead of Francesco Bagnaia, who retains the lead in the championship. Great performance also for the French Fabio Quartararo who completes the podium, despite a toe injury.

The Dutch MotoGP Grand Prix continues this Sunday after Saturday’s sprint race, which was masterfully won by Marco Bezzecchi, ahead of reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia who cemented his place as championship leader. We also remember the good performance of the French Fabio Quartararo who climbed on the 3rd step of the podium.

Quartararo “happy” with his race

An unexpected podium for the Yamaha rider who took advantage of a penalty from Brad Binder to recover 3rd place. The Frenchman had won on the same circuit in 2021, the year of his title. A circuit where he has always been comfortable and fast.

Yet handicapped by a broken toe, Fabio Quartararo is rather delighted with his performance. “Yes, very happy. It’s not the podium I was hoping for in these conditions, but really I’m quite happy with the race”, he confirms at the microphone of Canal +. “Physically, I’m in a little trouble. In terms of pain, it’s constant but my leg is shaking and it’s very annoying. But otherwise, it’s fine.”

Disappointment for Johann Zarco

This afternoon, he will start in a good 4th place, his best position since Valencia last year. With the possibility of reconnecting with good results. The disappointment, however, comes from the other Frenchman, Johann Zarco. We were used to seeing him on the podium and Fabio Quartararo in difficulty, but the situation was reversed. The Pramac driver started from 8th place, but collapsed and only finished 13th.

From now on, Johann Zarco must concentrate on the long race this Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. He will start 8th and hope to get on a fourth consecutive podium.
