Motorcycle on car – squirrel caused serious traffic accident

Fatal chain reaction on the state road near Biberwier: A car driver suddenly had to brake because of a squirrel. Unfortunately, a subsequent local motorcyclist (57) saw this too late. . .

Wednesday around 11 a.m., the 38-year-old German drove his car in the Biberwier municipality on the state road from Ehrwald towards Fernpass. When, according to him, a squirrel suddenly jumped across the road in front of the car, he initiated an emergency stop. A 57-year-old local motorcycle driver behind the car noticed the emergency braking too late and drove into the stopped car. Heavy impact The motorcycle driver was seriously injured by the impact and, after first aid, was taken to the Reutte district hospital with the rescue service. The driver of the car and his father, who was in the passenger seat, were not injured. While the motorcycle was being recovered, the state road had to be closed to all traffic for ten minutes.
