The head of the general public branch of Lenovo has confirmed working on a new generation of folding smartphone in its Motorola Razr range by delivering some avenues for improvement.

While Huawei unveiled its Huawei P50 Pocket this week and Oppo announced its Find N, it seems that we are witnessing a third wave of folding smartphones at the end of 2021. Lenovo does not want to be left behind and the Chinese manufacturer has already announced that it is working on a new folding Motorola Razr smartphone.
It is through a publication on the Chinese social network Weibo (via Phone Arena) that Chen Jin, head of the consumer segment of Lenovo – the parent company of Motorola – has started to tease the existence of a Motorola Razr 3. The publication begins as a reminder of the passage of time with the release of the Motorola Razr he two years ago. It must be said that Motorola was then one of the first manufacturers to enter this market, moreover with a folding smartphone – like what we now know with the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
A third generation of Razr folding screen smartphone
Chen Jin thus indicates that, from now on, Motorola is working on “The third generation of Razr folding screen smartphone”. It also gives some clues that should be embedded in this new model with a more powerful processor, a better software interface and a more design. “Atmospheric”.
For now, we still do not know what the precise characteristics of this Motorola Razr 3 will be, but we can safely count on a more powerful chip than that of the Motorola Razr 5G, then equipped with a Snapdragon 765G chip. We can even imagine that it will go for a high-end chip like a Snapdragon 888, or even the very latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
In addition, Chen Jin takes advantage of this teasing to announce that the Motorola Razr 3 will also be offered in China. It must be said that, until then, Lenovo has always made a clear distinction between its two brands with Motorola smartphones marketed in the West and Lenovo smartphones sold in Asia.
