Motorola Razr 2022 is on track

A little over two years after the revival of the Razr range, Motorola’s iconic clamshell mobiles in the early 2000s, a new generation of Razr is about to make its debut. One of the managers of the brand, owned by Chinese giant Lenovo, confirmed the upcoming release of the Razr on Chinese social networks.

On Weibo therefore, Chen Jin provides it with a first visual showing the hinge of the future device. It will of course keep the folding screen reminiscent of this clamshell format, and the whole will benefit from some “100 innovative patents”. Difficult to know more at this stage, except that the smartphone will be equipped with a “More advanced computing power”. We can hope that the brand will use a processor such as the Snapdragon 888, or even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, to replace the Snapdragon 765G of the previous Razr. A chip that is certainly 5G compatible, but positioned in the mid-range, despite a smartphone selling price of over € 1,000. We do not expect any less from a smartphone that lags a little behind the usual schedule, its predecessors having been presented respectively in fall 2019 and fall 2020.

Motorola’s Razr 2022 will be formalized for a start in China, before a very likely presentation on the international market where it will come up against the leader of the folding terminal market, Samsung and its Galaxy Z Flip 3. On its home market, it will be confronted with to the Huawei P50 Pocket, presented last week and offering a set of premium features, but without compatibility with 5G.
