Motorola Razr 50 Ultra: the rival of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is revealed before its time

In the folding smartphone market, one brand has persisted and made a mark since the launch of its first flip model in 2019: Motorola. The company was thus ahead of Samsung with its first Galaxy Z Flip, and this scenario should be repeated in 2024.

While the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected in July, Motorola’s Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra are expected to arrive in June. Besides, 91Mobiles put an end to the suspense in a blog post, sharing design and technical characteristics of the two models.

On the design side, the biggest change is happening on the side of the most accessible model: the Razr 50. The latter would have an external Oled panel of 3.63 inches, compared to 1.5 inches on the Razr 40 or even 3.6 inches on the Razr 40 Ultra. The exterior panel of the Razr 50 Ultra would also gain a few additional inches, allowing it to reach a diagonal of 4 inches.

According to 91Mobilesthe Razr 50 would have:

  • A main 6.9-inch 1080 x 2640 pixels 120 Hz Oled screen;
  • A photo module with 50 Mpx main sensor and 13 Mpx ultra wide angle;
  • A 32 Mpx front camera;
  • A MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chip;
  • 8 GB of RAM;
  • A 4200 mAh battery;
  • Dimensions of 171 x 74 x 7.2 mm;
  • A weight of 188 grams.

The Razr 50 Ultra would obviously raise the bar, with a folding panel refreshed up to 165 Hz; a 50 Mpx telephoto lens replacing the ultra wide angle of the Razr 50; a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor; 12 GB of RAM; a 4000 mAh battery compatible with 45 W fast charging; or a weight of 184 grams.

For the price, a previous leak mentioned unchanged pricing compared to the current generation: €899 for the standard model and €1199 for the Ultra version.
