With the Edge 30 Ultra, Motorola has presented its long-awaited high-end smartphone. It comes with a 200 MP camera, charges extremely fast and costs surprisingly little for an ultra phone.

With the Edge 30 Ultra, Motorola has presented a surprisingly strong smartphone. Compared to many other ultra cell phones, this model only costs 899 euros, but still offers a lot of features. This primarily includes the 200 MP main camera, which should have a particularly good picture quality. It generates 2.56 μm ultrapixels with a resolution of 16 MP. Many modern smartphones do this. Here we will have to wait and see how well Motorola’s software works. Samsung has so far reached a maximum of 108 MP.
Another highlight is the quick charge function. While Xiaomi quickly charges selected smartphones with up to 120 watts, Motorola gets even more out of it. Of the 4,610 mAh battery is charged at 125 watts. In 7 minutes you have energy for the whole day. A few more minutes and the battery is fully charged. It works wirelessly with 50 watts. Even reverse charging is supported. You have to do without an IP68 certification for this. Motorola only protects the smartphone against splash water according to IP52.
Most smartphone manufacturers rely on a 120 Hz display. Here, too, Motorola goes one step further. That OLED display operates at 144 Hz making it one of the fastest displays on traditional smartphones. Only gaming phones work even faster. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is supported by 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. The competition usually only has 128 GB. Otherwise, more memory costs an extra charge. The operating system is Android 12 and an update guarantee for three OS upgrades, i.e. Android 13, 14 and 15, as well as four years of security updates.

The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is now available in a version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory in two colors for 899 euros (see MediaMarkt). So you can strike directly if the smartphone has convinced you.
