The increase will apply from 1er February on the Vinci Autoroutes, APRR-AREA and Sanef SAPN networks. On the other hand, on the APRR-AREA and Sanef SAPN networks alone, electric cars will be able to benefit from a 5% reduction. “This will amount to canceling the increase in tolls for electric cars”underlines the ministry.

This annual increase, lower than inflation, will be accompanied by a 30 to 40% increase in the rebate granted to motorists who make the same round trip at least ten times a month. “This development is consistent with our priorities: in a context of inflation, limiting price increases for daily life, protecting those who have to use the car to go to work and encouraging the ecological transition”Transport Minister Clément Beaune said in a statement.

Motorway toll rates are reviewed each year in February, based on an automatic formula linked to the rate of inflation. In September, Clément Beaune had mentioned automatic increases “unsustainable” for 2023, around 7 to 8%, and asked for a “reasonable increase”.
