In December 2022, we announced in our columns the upcoming increase in motorway toll rates. Due to current inflation, prices will rise on average by 4.75% on the main hexagonal axes. Remember that this increase corresponds to 70% of the inflation rate (excluding tobacco), as provided for in the contracts signed with the motorway concession companies.

Knowing that this increase was inevitable, the Minister of Transport Clément Beaune had asked Vinci and its main competitors to put in place various measures to spare the finances of users. On RTL this Sunday morning, Clément Beaune assured “having spent weeks negotiating discounts for subscribers with motorway companies”.

And precisely, Vinci has just published a press release in which it communicates several measures “in favor of the purchasing power of users”. First of all, the company undertakes not to increase toll rates for the vast majority of short journeys this year on its network. “70% of journeys of less than 30 km, half of journeys of 50 km, as well as all bypass routes of 35 towns served by the Vinci Autoroutes network of this measure in favor of daily commuting, in particular ”, explains the company.

Secondly, car and two-wheeler users who take the same route every day will be able to benefit from a 40% discount on the toll price (from 10 round trips per month). To take advantage of it, you will need to subscribe to the offer on the ulys.com website to apply this preferential rate to your electronic toll badge. Note that if you subscribe to Ulys30, you automatically benefit from the offer.

We then conclude with a gesture in favor of the owners of electric cars. Indeed, the users concerned will be able to enjoy a 10% reduction on electric recharges carried out at more than 60,000 terminals in the network Ulys. Please note that this aid will only be available from May 1, 2023, and will remain valid until December 31, 2023.
