We already knew the Easy Fry & Grill. Moulinex will soon be offering the Easy Fry & Grill XXL. As its name suggests, this new model relies on a greater capacity than its predecessor with a tank of 6.5 liters, against 4.2. It must be able to accommodate enough to sustain up to eight guests according to Moulinex, which had also entrusted us in April to work on this new version following feedback from users who were a little unsatisfied.
This launch is therefore not really a surprise, but the firm was not content to increase the capacity of its latest fryer. It also incorporates a more powerful resistance – it goes to 1800 W – and, above all, gains a new accessory allowing you to cook different foods simultaneously. Called Flexcook, this is nothing more than a removable wall allowing the tank to be divided in two. It slips in the center, and we then obtain two compartments of 3.25 liters each.
6.5 liters for more guests, or full meals
The idea is to allow the preparation of a complete meal, with meat and its accompaniment for example. There is then of course no longer any question of cooking for eight people, and we will add that this leaves little space for large pieces of meat. A problem that we had already raised with the AF300EU of Ninja and its two tanks of 3.8 liters each.
In addition, the two compartments of the Easy Fry & Grill XXL being interdependent and dependent on the same resistance, it will be necessary to interrupt the cooking of the two preparations if one requires to be mixed, like fries. The question of the settings to adopt also arises. A synchronization function is supposed to help the user, but it is still unlikely that cooking will not be affected if the two preparations require very different temperature settings. In short, the idea of this separator is interesting, but we still ask to see it in action.
Like the classic model, the Easy Fry & Grill XXL also comes with a cast iron tray to slide into the bottom of the bowl. It aims not only to better circulate the air in the bowl to make the food crispy, but also and above all to mark it in combination with the grill function. The eight cooking programs are also included: fries, nuggets, roast chicken, pizza, meat, fish, vegetables, dessert.
The new Moulinex fryer will be launched at the recommended retail price of €199.99 in the coming weeks.
