- Alessandra Keller finished fourth in the women’s short track race in Val di Sole (ITA) and missed out on a podium by a hair’s breadth.
- For the men, Mathias Flückiger and Nino Schurter are passed on the last lap.
In the end, Alessandra Keller was just 1 second off the podium. Last season’s overall World Cup winner was able to break away on the 5th of 7 rounds with a group of 6 people. As a result, she was always present at the front, but then had to give up slightly on the last lap.
Victory went to the Austrian Laura Stigger, who was able to beat Puck Pieterse from the Netherlands in the final sprint. For her part, Keller was sprinted over in the final meters by Pauline Ferrand Prevot from France.
With Jolanda Neff (7th), Ramona Forchini (8th) and Sina Frei (9th), 4 more Swiss women make it into the top 10.
Schurter and Flückiger have to be demolished
For the men, Nino Schurter and Mathias Flückiger were at the top for a long time. In the last climb, however, the Swiss duo was passed through. Flückiger was finally 8th, Schurter 10th.
Victory went to Luca Schwarzbauer, who had already triumphed in Lenzerheide in the short track. He relegated the South African Alan Hatherly and Joshua Dubau (FRA) to the other places.
