On social media, numerous fans and colleagues say goodbye to Perry, who became famous as Chandler Bing in the sitcom “Friends” (1994 to 2004). Maggie Wheeler (62), who played his on-off girlfriend Janice in the series, also got in touch in an Instagram post.

“What a loss. The world will miss you, Mathew Perry,” she wrote alongside a photo of the two from the NBC series. “The joy you brought to so many in your all-too-short life will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared.” To this day, Janice is considered an absolute fan favorite in the series. Chandler breaks up with her early in the series, but his ex-girlfriend with the nasal voice, the loud laugh and the popular exclamation “Oh my God!” always appears as a surprise guest.
