Duchess Meghan was unable to attend the memorial service for Prince Philip. She is said to have given Prince Harry a memorial card.

Shortly after the death of Prince Philip (1921-2021) became known on April 9, Prince Harry (36) got on a plane in order to be with his family as soon as possible and to take part in the memorial service for his grandfather, which took place on Saturday afternoon ( April 17th) took place. However, his wife, Duchess Meghan (39), who is currently expecting the couple’s second child, was unable to attend. She is said to have given Harry a handwritten memorial card, however, as reported by the US magazine “People”.

Even before the memorial service it became known that Prince Harry had traveled alone from the USA. Meghan and Harry moved to the United States with their son Archie, 1 last year. The card is said to have been put down on Saturday along with a funeral wreath for the couple. This is said to have been designed by the florist and author Willow Crossley (“The Wild Journal”). The selection of plants, including apparently true hogweed and man litter, should, among other things, represent Philips’ Greek origin and his ties to the Royal Navy.

Harry had to sit alone

Because Meghan could not arrive, Harry had to sit alone during the funeral ceremony – just like Queen Elizabeth II (94). Due to appropriate safety precautions as part of the corona pandemic, only people from one household were allowed to sit together. Meanwhile, Meghan is said to have allegedly followed the funeral service from her home in Montecito, California.
