Thousands of hikers spent days on the lookout for the brightly painted stone of a recently killed girl. After this has been found, his mother now speaks up.
Resin stones are brightly painted stones that hikers can store and find in beautiful locations in the Harz Mountains. The search for a very special specimen moved thousands of people across Germany in the last few days. An eight-year-old girl had carefully painted her stone with a pink flamingo and left it on a picnic table in the Harz for other hikers.
In memory of eight-year-olds killed
She died just a few days later when a 30-year-old man raced into a group of schoolchildren. Now thousands of hikers were looking for the colored stone to give their parents at least a little consolation during this difficult time.
