After five years at the top of the YouTube subscriber charts, T-Series has been dethroned. MrBeast is the new leader.

Changing of the guard on YouTube: MrBeast alias James Stephen Donaldson (26) runs the most successful channel on the video platform. Follow MrBeast 270 million people on his main channel. The American thus dethroned the channel of the Indian music label and film studio T-Series. Its channel “only” has 266 million followers. T-Series had led the ranking since 2019.

T-Series dethroned – PewDiePie avenged

MrBeast reacted to the milestone on X, formerly Twitter. He posted yesterday (June 2) a comparison of a statistics provider at the moment he overtook T-Series.

“After six years, we have finally avenged PewDiePie,” wrote MrBeast, not quite mathematically correct. He is referring to his colleague PewDiePie alias Felix Kjellberg (34). The Swede was the undisputed king of YouTubers from 2013 to 2019, before he was overtaken by T-Series. Five years ago, he still had 92 million followers. Today, PewDiePie ranks on the list of channels with the most subscribers.

MrBeast: This is the new follower king on YouTube

MrBeast has been active on YouTube since he was twelve years old. He has long been the individual with the most followers there. In addition to his record-breaking main channel, Donaldson also has four other channels. He has between 24 and 43 million subscribers on each of them.

The YouTuber specializes in videos with challenges in which participants can win a lot of money. In his latest video, the candidates can receive $10,000 for every day they survive in the wild. MrBeast also likes to donate money to charity in his videos and in real life. Otherwise, he does unusual things in front of the camera, such as watching paint dry.

When it comes to the channels with the most clicks on YouTube, MrBeast has to admit defeat to many competitors. His clips have been viewed “only” 50 billion times. The leader here is T-Series with 256 billion views.
