MS. MARVEL

Has a theory been confirmed in the superhero series “Ms. Marvel” on Disney+? Kamala Khan’s bracelet may share origins with Shang-Chi’s Ten Rings.

  • Kamala Khan gets her super powers from a magic bracelet in “Ms. Marvel”.
  • Where the bracelet comes from and why it bestows cosmic magic is unclear.
  • Fans see a connection between Ms. Marvel’s bracelet and Shang-Chi’s Ten Rings.

In the new Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel” a new superheroine is introduced with Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani). The first episode already provides a foretaste of her cosmic abilities, which she gains through a bracelet. But where does the bracelet come from? Fans suspect a link to the Ten Rings from “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”.

Worn by Wenwu (Tony Leung) for thousands of years, the ten rings are ancient and when Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel (Briel Larson), Wong (Benedict Wong) and Dr. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) examine the rings and they are at a loss. They cannot determine where the rings come from or what metal they are made of.

The only thing the Avengers can say for sure is that the Ten Rings have been sending out a signal ever since Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) wore them. Whom the rings summon is unknown. What is certain is that the signal also penetrates through different dimensions. This is how Wong was able to sense the signal in Kamar-Taj even though Shang-Chi was in Ta-Lo, another dimension.

In “Ms. Marvel” Kamala Khan has now also found a mysterious relic, which clearly distinguishes Ms. Marvel’s superpowers from the comics. Where the bangle came from is still unclear, but the color of the metal resembles that of the ten rings.

Both relics also share the ornamentation with artistic patterns. Using the Ten Rings releases a blue energy (on Wenwu), similar to Kamala’s Bracelet.

Ms. Marvel: Is Kamala yet to prove herself worthy?

As previously described, the Ten Rings only sent out the signal when Shang-Chi donned and used the Rings. Thousands of years ago, under the leadership of Wenwu, nothing happened. Paired with the signal, the color of the power triggered by the wearer of the rings also changed from a shade of blue to a shade of gold.

Will this be similar for Kamala if she proves worthy of the bangle? Will the Force color change to a gold hue and will the bracelet also send out a signal? Kamala Khan’s appearance in the second Captain Marvel film, The Marvels, suggests that.

Given that Captain Marvel was exposed to the signal in the post-credits scene of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and will follow up, it would seem logical that another signal would shift Captain Marvel’s focus to Ms. Marvel will lay.

But to whom is the signal sent? Likely to Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors), who is confirmed as the main villain for Marvel Phase 4. He is a villain who can travel through time and space and likely forged the metal in the future to send it through time to the past. This would explain why nobody knows what the rings are made of.

With new episodes of Ms. Marvel arriving every Wednesday on Disney+’s New Arrivals program, we’re sure to have more information about the bracelet and how Captain Marvel is finding out about their biggest fan, Kamala Khan, very soon.
