MSI refreshes its line of all-in-one PCs with the Modern AM272 series. This promises performance and elegance for office use.

At the top of the list, we can mention a 27-inch FHD screen and a solid technical sheet, notably carried by Intel’s latest mobile processors, the Alder Lake-P.

MSI Productivity

For professionals who are getting tired of laptops, MSI’s Modern AM272 series comes in two models, respectively and soberly named AM272 12M and AM272P 12M. The only notable difference between the two is that the second, in addition to the tilt of the first, also adds screen height adjustment.

Speaking of the screen, this new series of all-in-one PCs from the dragon brand offers a 27-inch FHD (1,920 x 1,080) IPS panel accompanied by two 2.5 W speakers. will regret, and rightly so, a somewhat poor resolution for such a large screen.

Anyway, the technical sheet will ensure excellent performance for office use to go with the screen. Count an Iris Xe graphics processor, and up to an Intel Core i7-1260P processor with 4 performance cores, 8 efficient cores, 16 threads and 18 MB of cache for a speed of up to 4.7 GHz in turbo.

Those looking to boost the performance of this all-in-one PC will be able to take advantage of bays compatible respectively for an M.2 SSD and a 2.5″ SSD/hard drive. On the RAM side, it will be possible to integrate up to dual SO-DIMM DDR4 266/3200 MHz, for a maximum capacity of 64 GB.

Windows says Hello to MSI for the first time

For the first time in a range of all-in-one PCs from MSI, the Modern AM272 series will see its screens crowned with an HD webcam supporting Windows Hello, equipped with a resealable flap. This therefore means a connection thanks to facial recognition and other biometric functionalities to ensure security and productivity, in particular carried by the Tobii Aware software.

For the rest of the connections, the Modern AM272 series will not be lacking, with in particular six USB ports mixing Type-A and Type-C, an HDMI port and an Ethernet port. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 will of course be included for those who prefer a wireless connection.

If we know a lot about this new range of all-in-one PCs launched by MSI, it still remains to know its availability and price. It should be remembered that the previous generation, Modern AM271, is currently offered at a starting price of around 1,150 euros. It will therefore be necessary to expect a slightly higher price for the new generation.
