During our test of the MSI Claw, we described the machine as “PC console with blunt claws“. The fault in particular is performance below expectations. But this could well change thanks to two updates pushed by MSI, which even seem to place it ahead of the ROG Ally in certain scenarios.

MSI rectifies the situation in software

This concerns the MSI Center M overlay and the machine’s BIOS. The new versions, respectively numbered 109 and 2405.1401, are directly recoverable within the console update function, or on the MSI website. The manufacturer promises, via internal tests, up to 30% more performance. By performance, MSI is obviously talking about the number of frames per second.

This maximum number concerns the game Forza Horizon 5while popular titles like Helldiverse 2 And Fortnite run visibly 20% better. Overall, on the 100 most popular games on Steam, an increase in performance of around 26% was observed. Enough to cross the symbolic 60 fps mark on many titles to better enjoy them.

MSI is also proud to now greatly outperform the ROG Ally when it comes to running titles like Valheim Or Euro Truck Simulator 2much smoother on his machine.
