Because it is not always necessary to have a huge housing
tower format for making video games.

While we talk a lot about cloud gaming
, the MSI company is now distributing a new mini PC designed with this in mind. Thanks to its AMD APU, however, the MAG Trident S 5M has a good reserve of power.

Ready for the cloud gaming

Logically, the MAG Trident S 5M has extensive connectivity to connect it to a television or monitor: an HDMI 2.0 port, a DisplayPort 1.4 and a VGA connector (?!) are included.

Similarly, in order to guarantee its access to the cloud gaming, MSI has equipped its machine with a classic 1 GbE RJ45 Ethernet controller, an Intel controller for WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2. Technologies which are not avant-garde, but which have the advantage of not being expensive.

MSI emphasizes the presence of its LAN Manager interface in order to better manage remote access to the machine and of course insists on the compactness of its mini PC: 334.7 x 185.4 x 93 mm for only 2.42 kg and a case that should have no trouble finding its place in the living room.

“Local” and “mobile” as a bonus

The MAG Trident S 5M is also presented as a solution for “mobile” gaming. MSI distributes with its machine the MSI APP Player which is none other than an Android emulator. It is then possible to play mobile titles on the mini PC, in the comfort of your living room.

Even PC gaming – via Steam to use the example of MSI – is not excluded thanks to the power reserve of the AMD APU used here. It is a Ryzen 5700G with 8 cores / 16 threads. It is supported by a maximum of 64 GB of DDR4-3200 in SODIMM while the storage is entrusted to two M.2 PCIe Gen 3 and a slot for a 2.5 inch unit.
