A monster of Graphic card
and a recommendation of 1000 Watts for thefood
of the machine.
While NVIDIA seems to have halted production of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, that’s not stopping MSI from talking about its own take on the most powerful card in the Ampere lineup, an RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X that goes beyond the specs official.
Over $3,500 a card
The “base” GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is an ultra-powerful, ultra-expensive, and ultra-power-hungry card, but MSI’s SUPRIM X takes it a step further. NVIDIA evokes frequencies of 1560 MHz base and 1860 MHz in boost, MSI pushes 1,880 MHz in boost and 1900 MHz in mode extreme.
In fact, the TDP of the RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition of 450 Watts is beaten and the SUPRIM X is presented at 480 Watts. Compared to the RTX 3090 SUPRIM X this implies new power supply recommendations and MSI does not hesitate to ask for a 1000 Watt block, sorry!
Note that for its power supply, the RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X does not use NVIDIA’s 16-pin connector, but a more classic trio of 8-pin ports, while its ventilation ultimately seems classic for a SUPRIM X model.
The price will be much less, and early listings from resellers suggest that MSI’s RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X could top $3,500 or even $4,000.
