MSI’s 2023 laptops give everything for gamers

It’s laptops’ turn to take advantage of the recent Nvidia RTX 40 graphics cards. MSI has unveiled its brand new line of gaming laptops, and they have power to spare.

After proving their worth in desktop PCs, Nvidia RTX 40 graphics cards for laptops are finally coming to the fore. And it is in the new generation of MSI computers that they put their suitcases.

And not content with being among the first manufacturers to offer this type of GPU in gaming laptops, MSI makes sure to offer an optimal gaming experience by also betting on 13th generation Intel Core processors. This is the case of the Pulse and Stealth ranges, equipped with state-of-the-art components, capable of accompanying you in your gaming sessions for years to come.

What do these laptop gamers promise with an RTX 40?

MSI’s new laptops are not just an evolution of previous models, they promise a real generational leap. A feat made possible in the first place by the integration of the very recent Nvidia RTX 40 GPUs.

Powered by the Ada Lovelace architecture, the RTX 4080 and 4090 can easily run 4K games at over 60 FPS, while the RTX 4050 to 4070 cards are capable of supporting QHD resolution at over 90 FPS. You will have no problem running recent games and even future titles with an MSI laptop. All without overconsuming since the power of the RTX 40 on a laptop does not exceed 175 watts.

Better still, laptops with an RTX 40 stand out from the competition with their support for DLSS 3. They take advantage of the latest version of this technology which artificially increases the number of FPS thanks to the deep learning. It is thus possible to enjoy a fluid gaming experience, with high graphics settings.

And this, even when the ray tracing is activated. This function, exclusive to RTX 40 cards and therefore present on MSI PCs, is responsible for processing light, shadows and reflections dynamically in game, for a rendering as close as possible to reality.

On the power side, the RTX 40s have a minimum of 8 GB of VRAM in GDDR6. You can therefore bet on the display on several screens or have fun with games that are particularly intensive in graphic resources without losing fluidity. Better, they are compatible with the modes Whisper (to reduce ventilation noise) and Battery Boost (for battery optimization).

Finally, creatives working with image and video will see in MSI PCs an ally of choice. The manufacturer has applied to obtain compatibility with NVIDIA Studio for its new laptops. You get a suite of drivers that optimize performance in over 110 creative apps, plus several software to help you with your tasks, such as Canvas or Boradcast.

The Power of the 13th Gen Intel Processor

The integration of such high-performance graphics cards cannot be done without a technical sheet capable of keeping up with the times. This is why MSI has renewed its collaboration with Intel in order to take advantage of the recent 13th generation Intel Core chips.

These latest generation processors benefit from increased power compared to 12th generation Intel Core, with a performance gain of up to an additional 49% in multi-core tasks (for the Intel Core i9-13950HX chip). Concretely, MSI laptops should pose no problem running a demanding game and video capture software simultaneously.

Better management of peripherals and connectors is also part of the MSI machines since the Intel Core 13 chips support up to two Thunderbolt 4 controllers, Bluetooth LTE Audio, Wi-Fi 6E and PCI Express 5.0. Of course, the presence of a 13th Gen Intel Core chip redefines the Intel Evo certification. This guarantees improved autonomy and above all the arrival of Intel Unison, software that facilitates synchronization between your laptop and your smartphone.

Which MSI machine to choose?

The MSI Pulse 15 B13V

All these promises are found in the new MSI Pulse 15 B13V. The 2023 version of this laptop made for video games guarantees optimal performance for several years for mobile gamers.

Its futuristic design houses a high-end technical sheet, designed above all to meet the many requirements of players. It starts with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, and all the advantages that go with it, namely: the ray tracingDLSS3 and the ability to run all recent QHD games at over 90 FPS on the high graphics setting.

Similarly, there is a 13th generation Intel Core i7-13700H chip, much better able to run energy-intensive programs simultaneously without the slightest slowdown. Not to mention better connection management, to more easily connect a multiport docking station, an external screen or a video capture device.

The screen is not to be outdone since it is a 15.6-inch IPS panel with QHD definition. The refresh rate is colossal, climbing to a comfortable 240Hz. Shooters like Call of Duty: Warzone therefore promise to be responsive in all circumstances.

In addition to a 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD, the MSI Pulse 15 B13V can count on 16 GB of DDR5 RAM to maintain constant fluidity during long gaming sessions. Especially since a Cooler Boost 5 system is responsible for limiting heating over time.

Let’s not forget the connectivity which consists of a USB Type-C port (with DisplayPort Alt mode), 2 USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB Type-A 2.0 socket, an Ethernet port and an HDMI 2.1 socket (8K 60 Hz/4K 120 Hz).

So many features that allow the MSI Pulse 15 B13V to fulfill the promise made by MSI to gamers in 2023: to accompany demanding gamers over time and in their travels.

The MSI Stealth 16 Studio A13V

If it is also cut for the game, the MSI Stealth Studio A13V is thinner, lighter and more powerful than the MSI Pulse 15 B13V. And for good reason: it offers greater versatility.

Between its large 16-inch QHD IPS screen and its NVIDIA Studio certification, the MSI Stealth Studio A13V successfully meets the needs of creatives and image professionals. Its display surface allows you to have a view of the smallest detail while displaying many elements on the screen.

Above all, the dedicated graphics drivers ensure better management of the resources allocated to the editing and image editing software. Software that runs smoothly thanks to the powerful 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900H chip. Its weight of 1.99 kg and its thickness of 19 mm make it easily transportable for a device of this size.

Obviously, gamers are not left out thanks to the 32 GB of RAM (expandable to 64 GB) and the very good Nvidia RTX 4070 card. Again, recent and future games will run without any problem, with high graphics quality. .

It also does not skimp on connectivity with its Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-C 3.2, USB-A 3.2, RJ45 Ethernet, HDMI 2.1 (8K at 60 Hz / 4K at 120 Hz) ports and SD card reader.

Finally, the MSI Stealth Studio A13V also displays its versatility in the choice of its screen. Indeed, if a 16-inch panel is not enough for you to fully enjoy your favorite games, it is possible to fall for a version with MSI Stealth 17 Studio A13V. If, conversely, you prefer a more discreet computer, the MSI Stealth Studio A13V is also available with a 14-inch screen. A size that represents the ideal compromise between decent display and great mobility.
