This year no one will be able to avoid Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. The two top the list of nominations for the MTV VMAs.
The MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMAs) 2020 are expected to be dominated by Ariana Grande (27) and Lady Gaga (34). The two are considered favorites this year for the coveted music award. Both singers are nominated in a total of nine categories, as MTV has now announced. For their joint song "Rain On Me" they can even win together with the "Music Video of the Year", the "Song of the Year" and the "Best Collaboration".

However, Gaga and Grande have strong competition. The Canadian singer The Weeknd (30) and the recently extremely successful American Billie Eilish (18) were each nominated six times. In addition to all the stars mentioned so far, rap veteran Eminem (47) is fighting with the late 2019 Juice Wrld (1998-2019), her rap colleagues Future (36) and Drake (33) and the pop sensation Taylor Swift (30) for the Best Video Award.
In addition to Gaga, Justin Bieber (26), DaBaby (28), Megan Thee Stallion (25), Post Malone (25) and The Weeknd have also been nominated as "Artists of the Year". Fans can now vote for their favorites on the Awards website. The ceremony will then take place on August 30th. The awards include the best newcomers, pop, R&B, hip-hop, rock and alternative songs.
