The service of instant messaging offers more than a dozen titles to play with friends while chatting.

Facebook Messenger is one of the most widely used messengers in the world, both to chat in writing with groups of friends, but also in audio and video. Now, the American group wants to make your conversations a little more entertaining with a new option deployed now.

Games accessible for free during a call

During a call with your friends or family, you will now be able to access video games offered for free on the platform. The catalog is not the richest with only fourteen titles for this launch, but Meta already indicates that this collection will be enriched in the coming months.

Among these games, we find for example Words with Friendsan imitation of the famous Scrabblecard games, and the essential quiz to test your general knowledge and amaze the gallery by answering dozens of questions.

Less subtle, but just as funny, the games gallery includes Exploding Kittens, an online version of the card game inspired by the practice of Russian roulette. Players will have to draw cards and avoid explosive cats, which will cause them to lose the game.

Facebook Messenger tries its luck again in the world of gaming

To access multiplayer video games, all you have to do is start an audio or video call with one or more participants, then click on the “Play” button to access the collection.

Meta specifies that each title has been adapted for Messenger, with the video windows of each participant remaining displayed on the screen during the game. Each title has a limited number of participants, but each of them can be launched with a minimum of two players. This Games section is accessible both on mobile devices under iOS and Android, but also from a web browser.

It is hoped for Meta that this attempt will be more successful than the previous one. The company already offered a few games several years ago, but the initiative had apparently not found its audience and the Messenger teams had finally removed many features to lighten the interface and user experience. . This time may be the right one.
