Multiple profiles on Facebook? It’s new and it’s not so trivial

For a single user, Facebook now allows you to create up to four different profiles. But why ?

It has always been difficult to reconcile your private life and your professional life on social networks, and in particular on Facebook. Also, Meta has just announced a new feature aimed at allowing each user to benefit from four distinct profiles, with the possibility of switching from one to the other in one click. The goal (among others): separate your professional life from your personal life.

Four profiles for one user

Tested for a few weeks now, the new functionality from Meta is currently being deployed, and allows a single user to benefit from four personal profiles. There is no need to create new accounts, with an email and identifiers to remember, since everything is accessible directly from the main profile. You go from one profile to another without any login or code.

In this way, each user profile will be able to benefit from its own community, with the added bonus of course of a content flow which will be different depending on each profile. We can thus imagine a main profile tailored to suit family relationships, another for friends, another for work, and another for hobbies and other passions.

How to create new profiles on Facebook?

To create additional profiles, simply:

• Click on the profile photo at the top right;
• access the “View all Profiles” option (down arrow);
• validate the “Create a new profile” command;
• choose your profile name.

Please note that for this launch, certain features such as Meetings, MarketPlace or even payments are not accessible to additional profiles. Furthermore, initially, messaging will only be accessible via the web version of Facebook and the eponymous application (and not via Messenger directly).

Finally, Meta specifies that nothing will allow other users to know whether or not you have additional profiles. By the way, have you noticed that Facebook recently changed its logo?
