MultiVersus will open its beta next week and to celebrate, the Smash-like of Warner was treated to its own conference at San Diego Comic Con, an hour-long presentation to reveal no less than three characters.
MultiVersus cooks dunks and Pickle Rick
You might not be really surprised if you have followed the game a bit. Indeed, Rick and Morty as well as Space Jam are mentioned in the legal notices, the Minions are already present in the tutorial and as an item and the stage Cygnus-5 was used for the background of the image presenting the official Twitch extension of MultiVersus.
Not everyone will arrive at the same time, and it will start next week, the tuesday july 28 to be exact with the arrival of LeBron Jamesthe basketball star and Space Jam 2 (which explains the link with Warner). It will be a character belonging to the hitter class who will use his ball to torment his enemies. And no, he does not do the English voice of the character who was entrusted to John Bentley.
And season 1 will bring Rick and Morty who will be two separate characters and not a duo à la Tom & Jerry. Morty Smith will arrive on August 9 and his grandfather Rick Sanchez later in Season 1. Rick will be a mage and Morty a puncher.
No gameplay video of them yet but beta data had allowed a modder to use Rick Sanchez to make a first gameplay video where we could see that he will use and abuse his portals which will allow you to teleport your enemies but also the projectiles.
MultiVersus is currently in early access before moving into open beta on July 28 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. Our guide dedicated to the game is already available, including pages to learn how to play each of the characters or the list of trophies / achievements.
