After several weeks of rumors, Warner Bros. Games has formalized MultiVersus, its platform fighting game, in which many well-known characters will be part of it. Developed by Player First Games, the title is largely inspired by the Smash Bros. franchise, but will obviously offer some innovations, in order to find its audience. In addition to a free-for-all mode, in which four players will compete with the goal of being the sole survivor, a ranked mode will be in the game. The developers are indeed betting on the competitive aspect of the game which will encourage players to be the best.
To do this, they will have access to a large catalog of characters, from world-famous licenses, such as Game of Thrones, DC Comics with Batman, Superman and Harley Quinn, cartoons with Bugs Bunny and even Scooby- Doo, with Samy. These characters can be personalized with skins and will all have unique skills, in order to have a strategic aspect.
With the aim that the launch of MultiVersus happens for the best, the developers will launch at least a playtest phase, in order to test the gameplay on a large scale, but also to know if the servers will hold the road. The first will take place on December 10.
How to participate in the MultiVersus alpha?
If you want a chance to preview MultiVersus and its fights, you must register through the official website. Go here, and click on “subscribe to the private alpha”, which is located at the top right of the screen, indicating your e-mail address. Note, however, that registering does not guarantee you access during this test phase.
MultiVersus will arrive in 2022, without further details for the moment, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series. It will be available in free-to-play and will offer cross-play.
