MultiVersus introduces Rifts, a PvE game mode – Gamosaurus

The fighting game mixing all universes from Warner Bros. will make its comeback on May 28. But before that, MultiVersus take the opportunity to unveil Rifts, a fully PvE game mode. These are scripted fights that will provide training. But modifiers will make the experience more atypical to offer a real challenge. And with everything that seems to be preparing for it, we fully expect to be surprised.

Concretely, and this is what is explained in the video, the Rifts consist of numerous fights. These are separated into several parts called nodes which culminate in winning rewards. In each node, the player obtains mutators which will influence his skills and give him an advantage. But the fights won’t be the only challenges. Bosses will sometimes add a little spice to a node, or even mini-games with completely different rules.

The Flaws of MultiVersus therefore do not aim to create a story bringing together the different protagonists of Warner’s universes. It’s more about chaining fights together, gaining power with mutators, and ending with rewards that will be used to permanently improve a character. Like a roguelite in short. It remains to be seen whether the mode will be able to renew itself sufficiently to justify returning to it regularly, whether alone or with a friend.
