MultiVersus: The open beta breaks all records!

Since yesterday, the open beta of MultiVersus is in full swing and the records for simultaneous players continue to be broken! The smash like with Warner Bros sauce has once again exploded Steam counterswhile its beta in early access had already marked the history of the genre a few days ago!

MultiVersus at the top!

Warner’s game is a hit even before its official release, proving that it has a bright future ahead of it! Made official last November, MultiVersus, a free-to-play fighting game uses the codes of Super Smash Bros. It wants to be a smash like, putting fun at the center of the gameplay, while having sufficient (and necessary) depth for players. the most hardcore.

Although it is similar to a classic smash like, MultiVersus tries to offer a different experience from that of Smash with a 2v2 mode particularly pushed. It is thus possible to interact with the specificities of his partner, which of course are unique to each character. The game seduces thanks to all these features as well as fighters all more unique than the others, but also because it is available free. Revenue is generated through Founder’s Packs, in-game purchases, or certain tokens that players can purchase to unlock new characters.

MultiVersus therefore seems to have all the ingredients to seduce, and the numbers prove it! According to Steam data, a peak of more than 144,000 concurrent players was recorded on the day of the beta launch. A monumental figure which proves once again that the success of early access was not a coincidence, the community is indeed present!

Early access had already hit the mark

Early access to the MultiVersus was open a few days ago to a limited number of players, i.e. those who played the closed alpha, obtained a code via Twitch drops or paid for a Founder’s pack . Although it was accessible to a limited number of users, early access recorded a peak in traffic a few days ago 62,433 playersunheard of for a fighting game in early and restricted access!

Thanks to this strong influx, MultiVersus recorded the highest peak of players ever observed on a fighting game (in 1v1 or smash like), ahead of Dragon Ball FighterZ, Mortal Kombat 11 or even the legendary Brawlhalla. The open beta will perhaps follow the same path, and will undoubtedly give the MultiVersus a more than promising future in the industry!

As a reminder, the beta is available on many platforms: Xbox, PlayStation, Steam and Epic Games in free-to-play. So don’t hesitate to go into battle with characters, each crazier than the next, like Sammy, Jake, Batman, Lebron James and many others!
