You probably didn’t miss MultiVersus, which was available for some in early access since July 19, with a large number of players already (a peak of 60,000 only on Steam). After some problems, the title launched its open beta and the community rushed to the game, to propel it among the most popular productions on Steam.
MultiVersus is already a success
As expected, the curious were numerous, peaking at 144,456 concurrent users within hours of launch according to data from SteamDB. Very good news for the developers, who must be delighted to see their game attracting so much attention. I have to say that MultiVersus has many advantages, in particular the fact of having characters known to all, from Warner Bros. licenses, like DC Comics heroes, Looney Tunes, Rick & Morty or Game of Thrones. Especially since the roster will grow over time.
Adding all platforms (PC, PlayStation and Xbox), MultiVersus must have easily exceeded 200,000 concurrent users, which is a good performance for an open beta release. Over the next few days, we should see these stats increase, if the hype continues and players are thrilled with the experience, which seems to be the case for the most part.
