Season 1 of MultiVersus has unfortunately been postponed for a few days, but that does not prevent the developers from teasing what will soon be introduced. A small roadmap, or rather a snapshot, to use the precise terms, has therefore been published, on the sidelines of EVO 2022, with new content information for season 1.
Modes and skins for Season 1 of MultiVersus
As we already knew, at least two characters will arrive during season 1. The first, Morty, from launch, initially scheduled for August 9. The second, Rick, will be released a little later, perhaps in a mid-season update. Unsurprisingly, many cosmetics, including outfits, will be added, especially via the Battle Pass.
On the gameplay side, Ranked mode will finally be playable. Shown in-game since the release of Early Access, Ranked mode remains grayed out and cannot be launched at this time. It will be with Season 1, allowing for more balanced matchmaking and much more competitiveness. Note also that there is a good chance that this mode prohibits the use of the same character within the same team (like double Finn, for example).
The little surprise comes from the announcement of an Arcade mode for MultiVersus, which was not really expected. The only information available about it is that it will be playable in co-op. We’ll know a bit more when its launch gets closer. On top of all that, we should expect several character balancing, nerfs, and buffs.
No release date for season 1 has been communicated, but Player First Games promises to announce it to us very soon. In the meantime, the fighting game remains available in open beta on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series. You can also find a third list of the best MultiVersus characters, to help you choose.
